Set up myID

If you already have a myID

If you already have a myID, you can use it to register for and access the Health Business Services Portal.

To use the portal, your myID must have at least a Standard identity strength.

If your myID is currently set to Basic, you will need to increase your identity strength before registering.

When you access the portal for the first time, select Register with Digital ID and follow the onscreen instructions.

After you have registered, select Sign in with Digital ID each time you access the portal.

You do not need to set up your myID again or remember a password for the portal.

If you do not have a myID

If you do not already have a myID, you will need to set one up before you can register for the portal.

To set up a myID, you will need:

  • a compatible smartphone or tablet
  • a personal email address (not a shared or work email)
  • at least two Australian identity documents to reach the required Standard identity strength.

You can learn more about setting up a myID and view the list of accepted identity documents on the myID website.

About myID and your privacy

myID is the Australian Government’s digital identity app. It is used by many government services to help protect your information and confirm your identity.

Using myID helps keep your personal and commercial information secure and reduces cyber security and fraud risks.

When you sign in to the Health Business Services Portal using myID you will be asked to consent to sharing limited information with the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.

We only collect:

  • your name
  • your myID email address
  • your identity strength.

The myID app uses encryption and the security features on your device, such as fingerprint, face recognition or a password, to protect your identity.

You only need to provide your identity documents once, when you set up your myID.

You can read more about how your information is protected at Protecting your Digital ID.
